Description

DIFFERENT KINDS OF MICROSCOPES

1. Compound Microscope  Consists of a number of lenses forming the image by the lens or a combination of lenses near the object, projecting it to the ocular lens or eyepiece  Most used type of microscope

2. Optical Microscope/Light Microscope  A type of compound microscope that uses a combination of lenses magnifying the images of small objects

3. Digital Microscope  Has a digital CCD camera and is connected to a LCD or computer monitor  Usually has no eyepieces to view the objects directly

4. Fluorescence Microscope/Epifluorescent Microscope  Uses fluorescence and phosphorescence to view the samples and their properties 5. Electron Microscope

   

One of the most advanced and important type of microscope Has the highest magnifying capacity Electrons are used to illuminate the tiniest particles More powerful compared to commonly used light microscope

6. Stereo Microscope/Dissecting Microscope  Uses two objectives and two eyepieces, making it possible to view a specimen under angles to the human eyes forming a stereo 3D optical vision
